"I sure as hell felt like I was full of indestructible teenage courage & angst. With traction for days & tank-like stability, you can go wherever you want when you're riding the Taniwha. The bike has a stability to it, or maybe a calmness is a better way to put it, that makes a rider feel like they're more skilled & brave."
Mike Levy - Pinkbike
Pinion gearbox technology, THE highest quality carbon fabrication and the Gates Carbon Belt Drive. The future is here.
Traction like you have never felt
"the Taniwha tracked the ground better than any other bike I’ve ever been on, including full-blown DH rigs with perfectly dialed coil shocks" - Noah Bodman, Blister Gear
We love more traction
And so will you. You’ll take rowdier lines, corner faster & maximise the fun factor.
By moving the unsprung weight of a derailleur & cassette from the back wheel to the bottom bracket, the suspension is free to work as it should - giving it more traction & allowing for a much more compliant & confidence inspiring ride. Who said science wasn’t fun.
Optimised anti squat in every gear
A derailleur's chain line is always changing as it clambers up & down a cassette resulting in inconsistent pedaling performance. Because of the Taniwha's fixed chain line, pedaling performance is constant & efficient across all gears.
"this turned out to be one of the best steep tech climbing longer travel bikes I've ridden" - Perry Schebel, NSBM

Taniwha Geometry
The new seasons Taniwha has been tweaked to offer a longer lower cockpit. By reducing the seat tube length of each size you can slam your seat, choose a longer reached frame or even just stay as you are.
We have named our sizes based on the reach length as we feel this is the most important factor when deciding on your perfect bike. Use the sizing chart below as a guide to selecting your Taniwha. Some people prefer short & snappy characteristics, where others prefer long & stable. We don't want to pigeonhole you, the choice is yours.
